Are you one of those grinders who just can't seem to catch a break in tournaments or ring games?  Poker Luck Meter can validate your feelings of hardship at the tables with cold hard facts.  All players have to do to use this amusing online utility is upload hand histories and the Poker Luck Meter will output a luck versus skill analysis.  The site debuted in recent weeks and already announced several new features.

Poker Luck Meter is a free website that analyzes your hands through various algorithms to determine a "luck versus skill" factor.  On October 9th, the site released a plethora of new features including:

- Ability to enter your e-mail address on the progress page to receive an e-mail when the Luck Meter has finished processing uploads

-  Click the Feedback link to send comments directly to developers

- Ability to use the Status tab on the Results page to view a breakdown of what was processed

- A clickable link on the Results page to generate HTML code

- The Luck Meter will now identify (but not process) hands from Omaha, Seven Card Stud, and other poker games

To use Poker Luck Meter, simply go to the website and click on the "Upload" button to go to the Upload Hand History utility page.  From here, there are three options to choose from: HTML-Based (one hand history file at a time), Java-Based (allows you to drag and drop as many files as you’d like) and E-Mailing.  Using the Java-Based method is extremely fast and uploads 20 files in a matter of seconds.  Processing for a small batch of files doesn't take long and a report will come up automatically.

Once the processing is complete, users are taken to a Luck Analysis Results page, which contains statistics and a breakdown showing your poker room, time period, total winnings, expected all-in winnings, expected win rate, and a "Your luck was at" factor that shows whether you were unlucky or lucky.  To the right of that breakdown is a Luck Meter, which shows how you fared on a scale of zero (very bad luck) to 100 (luckbox).

Below the informational breakdown is the Graphs area, which has three tabs: Key Hands, Showdown, and All-In Luck.  You can right-click on any of the graphs and select "Save As" if you want to save the results.  There's a “Link” button if you want to paste your graph into your favorite forum or blog.  The graph reveals where the bad luck occurred.

Currently, Poker Luck Meter supports hand history files from PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker, and PartyPoker.  There is a strict privacy policy in place at the site with full confidentiality of data.  Although Poker Luck Meter tracks how unlucky or lucky you might have been over a given period of time, there's really nothing that you can do to change the outcome.  The results of the calculations are the result of proprietary algorithms and can easily assure a player that he or she might be playing well, but is facing a rough patch of luck.
